We are currently seeking compassionate and experienced Travel Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) with expertise in geriatrics to join our dynamic team. As a Travel LPN specializing in geriatrics at NCG Associates, you will have the exciting opportunity to travel to different locations and provide exceptional care to elderly patients.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to geriatric patients in various healthcare settings
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor patients' conditions closely and promptly report any changes to the registered nurse or physician
- Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized care plans
- Accurately document patient information and maintain organized medical records
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive and personalized care
- Provide emotional support and companionship to elderly patients
- Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients
- Follow infection control protocols and adhere to safety guidelines
Requirements
- Active and unrestricted LPN license in the state of practice
- Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in geriatric nursing
- Strong knowledge of geriatric nursing principles and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards elderly patients
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Ability to adapt and thrive in new environments
- Flexibility to travel and work in different locations
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and transfer patients
- Availability to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Current BLS certification (Basic Life Support)
Benefits
Location: Burlington, VT
Pay Rate: $1,425 -1,575 Weekly depending on your experience
Class/Area: LPN / Geri
Desired Start Date: ASAP
Length of Assignment: 8 weeks
Hours per Week: 37.5
Shift and Time: Flexible
Schedule Details: Full Time
Weekend Rotation: every other
On-call Requirements: none
Holidays Requirements: as scheduled
Floating Requirements: must float to similar units
Experience Required: 1 year in last 18 months
Experience Preferred: PCC charting
License Required: VT State license
Certificates Required: BLS
