Jared G. Johnson, CPA, PLLC is seeking a dedicated Tax Accountant and bookkeeper to join our team. As a small CPA firm located in Winston Salem, NC, we specialize in providing tax, accounting, bookkeeping, advisory, and fractional CFO services to clients across the country. Embracing technology, we have established a fully paperless office and utilize various software applications to enhance our productivity, accuracy, and overall work enjoyment. Additionally, our investment in technology enables our team members to work remotely from anywhere in the world.

Responsibilities
- Prepare federal and state income tax returns for individuals and businesses
- Collaborate with clients to gather necessary tax documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Perform tax research and identify potential tax savings opportunities for clients
- Assist clients with tax planning and provide valuable guidance on how to minimize tax liabilities
- Analyze financial statements and prepare supporting schedules for tax return preparation
- Stay updated on the latest tax laws, regulations, and accounting principles
- Respond to inquiries and resolve tax-related issues from clients and tax authorities in a professional manner
- Provide both simple and complex bookkeeping services to internal and external clients
- Assist with internal operational projects as needed
Requirements
- Strong software skills are a must!
- QuickBooks Desktop and Online, UltraTax CS and Thomson Reuters software suite, Word, Excel, are highly preferred.
- A strong passion for exploring and embracing new software is a must!
- We use several applications to execute deliverable and manage workflow.
- A strong aptitude for systems implementation, utilization, and enhancement is absolutely crucial.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
- Proficient with tax preparation software and accounting systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organization skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
