Full Job Description
Saga Diagnostics is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in implementing an enterprise Laboratory Information System (LIS). The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and configuring core LIS workflows, integrating with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, and integrating a customer portal. This role requires an in-depth understanding of enterprise systems, strong problem-solving abilities, and experience with software integration in complex environments.
Key Responsibilities:
LIS Implementation:
- Help develop, customize, and implement a Laboratory Information System (LIS) tailored to enterprise-level operations.
- Work with stakeholders to gather and define system requirements and develop solutions that meet laboratory workflows and compliance standards.
- Ensure the LIS system supports data capture, storage, analysis, and reporting for lab tests and results in real-time.
Billing System Implementation:
- Develop and integrate billing workflows specific to molecular diagnostics.
- Implement healthcare revenue cycle management (RCM) platform into the LIS and CRM systems.
Compliance & Data Security:
- Ensure that all software solutions adhere to industry standards and regulatory compliance (e.g., CLIA, HIPAA).
- Design systems with audit trails and logging mechanisms to ensure compliance with regulatory oversight and reporting requirements.
Maintenance & Support:
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, working closely with laboratory staff and IT support teams to minimize downtime.
- Maintain documentation and training materials for laboratory personnel and administrators on system functionality.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Ideal candidate will have a min. of 5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on healthcare or laboratory systems.
- Strong proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python.
- Proven experience within a CLIA laboratory environment.
- Hands-on experience with LIS/LIMS and knowledge of their integration with other enterprise systems.
- Expertise in API development and system integration methodologies (REST, SOAP, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Solid understanding of healthcare data standards and billing standards.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and deployment tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in database management and data modeling, including experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge of automated testing tools and CI/CD pipelines for healthcare applications.
