As we continue expanding, this role offers hands-on experience, opportunities to grow into leadership, and the chance to make a tangible impact by developing cutting-edge wellness technology. You’ll collaborate across disciplines to innovate and shape technologies that enhance well-being for our clients.

What is this role and why does it exist?

This Senior Embedded Hardware Engineer role exists to bring high-level firmware and hardware expertise into Ammortal’s new products. As we continue to deliver cutting-edge wellness technology, this position is key to developing new embedded boards, and integrating with our software team to ensure seamless functionality and user experience.

By leading innovative hardware design and firmware development, you will have a direct impact on our mission by shaping the electrical and embedded architecture that powers our signature healing technologies.

Responsibilities:

  1. Embedded Hardware & Firmware Development
    • Own the design, implementation, and optimization of firmware on microcontroller platforms.
    • Spearhead the creation and revision of new board designs (schematic capture, PCB layout), ensuring best practices for signal integrity and manufacturability.
  2. System Integration & Testing
    • Collaborate with the software team to integrate new hardware designs into our overall product architecture.
    • Validate and refine hardware–firmware interactions using advanced debugging tools, troubleshooting complex system-level issues.
  3. Hardware-Software Coordination
    • Drive the setup and validation of hardware–firmware interfaces, overseeing complex signal flows and communication protocols.
    • Use advanced debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.) to identify and resolve issues at the intersection of hardware and software.
  4. Leadership & Collaboration
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering best practices in embedded systems and electrical design.
    • Coordinate cross-functional efforts to ensure timely completion of prototyping, testing, and final deliverables.

Requirements

What technical knowledge do you need to perform in your role?

Required

  • Deep Experience with schematic design and PCB layout (KiCad, Altium, or Eagle).
  • Advanced C/C++ proficiency for microcontroller firmware and software integration.
  • In-depth experience with embedded communication protocols (e.g., SPI, I²C, UART).
  • Proficiency in hardware debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) and understanding of signal-level diagnostics.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in embedded systems or a similar engineering field.

Preferred

  • Exposure to advanced networking or high-speed data interfaces.
  • Familiarity with EMC/EMI compliance and broader electronics design considerations.
  • Experience optimizing firmware for performance, memory, or power constraints.

Encouragement to Apply

If you’re a forward-thinking engineer passionate about innovation, wellness technology, and making a meaningful impact, we’d love to hear from you. Even if you don’t meet every requirement, we value curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to grow. Let’s innovate together!
