Poult Truck Driver

Prestage Farms is looking for a Poult truck driver who is a team player. The driver will team with another driver and will transport newly hatched poults to the placement farms in South Carolina. Driver is responsible for the loading and unloading of live poults in a safe and orderly manner along with other responsibilities involving with working with animals. Deliveries are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Fridays for SC with the possibility of some local driving on Mondays and Thursdays. Driver's shift starts at 1:00am for South Carolina deliveries. This position averages 40-45 hours weekly.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
• Document and log work/rest periods
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
• May require lifting of up to 50lbs.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• No recent moving or driving violations.
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
• Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations.
• Trucking school Certificate of Training or atleast 1 year of driving experience.
• Valid CDL class A license
