Full Job Description

Givens has operated in the Hampton Roads area for over 50 years as a leader in warehousing, distribution and transportation services. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator (Local) with at least three years of dispatching experience, preferably within the Greensboro area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating daily dispatch operations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining effective communication with drivers and clients. Strong local knowledge of Greensboro and the surrounding area is essential for success in this role. 

  • Monitor and manage daily dispatch schedules to ensure efficient operations. 
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, providing clear route instructions and addressing any issues promptly. 
  • Coordinate with clients to guarantee timely pick-up and delivery of goods. 
  • Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities and driver schedules. 
  • Utilize dispatch software such as Motive and McLeod to track vehicle locations and optimize routes. 
  • Collaborate with the operations team to resolve logistical challenges. 
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, DOT Regulations and company policies. 
  • Working in tandem with dispatch team in coordinating a fleet of approx. 20 commercial vehicles including 26’ Box Trucks and Tractor Trailers.
  • On Call Duties as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in logistics or transportation is a plus. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in driver dispatching. 
  • Strong knowledge of Greensboro and the surrounding areas, including local roadways and traffic patterns. 
  • Proficiency in dispatch software, specifically Motive and McLeod (Strongly Preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • Excellent communication in person and via email.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
