Carolina Reserve of Hendersonville is seeking a Laundry Assistant responsible for collecting, cleaning, and distributing residents’ linens in a timely, organized manner to ensure that residents’ laundry and linen needs are met. Ensure that linens and resident clothing are handled, processed, and stored so as to control the spread of infection or disease.

Responsibilities
- Patience and desire to work with seniors.
- Dependable and organized.
- Well-groomed and ability to follow dress requirements.
- Familiarity with washing and drying clothes.
- Pleasant, friendly and helpful at all times ensuring proper and timely service.
- Ability to learn tasks and follow written and oral instructions.
Laundry Functions
- Use laundry cart to collect dirty laundry from residents’ rooms.
- Wash and dry table, bed and bath linens and resident clothing as scheduled.
- Ensure that laundry is distributed to its designated residents.
- Fold or hang clothing for residents when necessary.
- Notify supervisor when linens, towels, detergents or other supplies are needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of laundry and storage room.
- Ensure appropriately labeled designations for towels, washcloths, etc.
- Update laundry schedule when a new resident moves in.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in a healthcare, hospitality or service environment preferred.
- General understanding of the needs of seniors.
- Ability to work in an environment conducive to caring for residents without posing a substantial safety or health threat to self or others.
- Ability to work well with others and promote a team environment.
