Aspire Medical Staffing is currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Tele-Hematology/Oncology Registered Nurse to join our team at the Durham VA Healthcare System in Durham, NC. As a Tele-Hematology/Oncology RN at Aspire Medical Staffing, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of patients undergoing treatment for hematologic and oncologic conditions.
At Aspire Medical Staffing, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive and personalized care to our patients. Our Hematology/Oncology RNs play a vital role in managing symptoms and providing education and support to patients and their families.
LOCATION:
- Shall provide services virtually via telehealth. VA’s National TeleOncology Service is hubbed at the Durham VA Healthcare System in Durham, NC.
HOURS OF OPERATION:
- National TeleOncology Business Hours: MON-FRI 0800-1630 ET Closed on weekends and closed on all Federal Holidays
- Patients must be seen via telehealth in a timely manner in accordance with VA Rules and Regulations on clinic wait times and consult completion. Shall notify the COR at least monthly about any obstacles to meeting this performance measure.
- Shall be available and present online during normal clinic hours, which will be established, and may be revised, as deemed appropriate for patient care by the Chief Medical Officer.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Hematology/Oncology Nursing: RNs assigned to the hematology/oncology unit will be responsible for patient assessments, managing side effects, providing symptom management, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, educating patients and families, documenting patient care, and ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduation from a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
- A current license in at least one (1) state, territory, or commonwealth in the U.S. or the District of Columbia. All licenses held by the personnel working on this contract shall be full and unrestricted licenses.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent clinical experience in hematology/oncology nursing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
