We’re looking for a General Service Automotive Technician.
Duties include:
- Oil changes
- Light duty mechanical
- Performs tire repair and installation, oil changes, state inspections, and preventive maintenance to customer vehicles.
- Completely follows work order instructions. Immediately returns work order to service advisor for clarification on any items that are unclear.
- Checks and properly sets tire pressure for all four wheels on every vehicle that is worked on.
- Properly uses torque sticks or torque wrenches when putting tires back on vehicles.
- Inspects belts, hoses, batteries, and air filters for wear or damage on all vehicles.
- Inspects and tops off fluids to proper levels for brake fluid, antifreeze, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, and motor oil.
- Inspects brake pad lining and rotor condition anytime wheels are removed from vehicle.
- Double checks that oil caps, lug nuts, drain plugs are tight and that oil level is correct.
- Resets oil light or service lights on all applicable vehicles. Asks service manager for help when unsure how to reset.
- Monitors and resets tire pressure monitor lights after tire services.
- Completely fills out complimentary digital vehicle inspection form prior to returning work order to service advisor or service manager.
- Performs other duties as required within the scope of responsibility.
Requirements
Education and/or Experience: Must meet or exceed standards set by the industry recognized trade organizations. High School diploma or GED preferred. Must have some or limited training/knowledge in automotive repair, with demonstrated ability and desire to learn and develop further in this area.
License/Certification: Valid driver’s license required. NC Safety Inspection License and enhanced Emissions license is preferred.
Computer Skills: Entry level knowledge of computer equipment and applicable software applications
Reasoning Ability: Ability to manage priorities and be able to adapt to meet the diverse needs of our customers. Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision.
