The Fleet Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the maintenance and repair of the company's fleet of trucks. This role requires extensive knowledge of the trucking industry and excellent organizational skills. The Fleet Maintenance Manager will ensure that all vehicles are operating safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Fleet Maintenance Management:
- Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program for the fleet.
- Oversee and schedule routine maintenance and repairs for all trucks.
- Manage and maintain maintenance records, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date.
- Develop and implement solutions to improve fleet reliability and performance.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues with driver.
- Ensure all trucks meet safety and regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
- Collaborate with safety personnel to address any issues or concerns.
- Prepare and manage the fleet maintenance budget.
- Monitor and control maintenance costs.
- Manage parts inventory and ensure timely procurement of necessary supplies.
- Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors and suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing for parts and services.
- Evaluate vendor performance and address any issues.
- Coordinate with vendors to meet safety and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of the trucking industry and vehicle maintenance.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in fleet maintenance or a similar role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in fleet management software and other relevant technologies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
