Full Job Description
The Fleet Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of the
construction company's fleet of vehicles and equipment. This role ensures that all equipment
and vehicles are in good working condition, properly maintained, and efficiently utilized to
support construction projects.
Requirements
1. Fleet Management:
- Oversee the acquisition, deployment, and disposal of vehicles and construction equipment.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all fleet assets.
- Schedule and coordinate regular maintenance, inspections, and repairs of vehicles and equipment.
2. Maintenance and Repairs:
- Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program to minimize downtime.
- Work with vendors and service providers to arrange for repairs and maintenance.
- Track maintenance and repair costs and ensure adherence to budget.
3. Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure all vehicles and equipment meet regulatory compliance and safety standards.
- Maintain up-to-date records for all fleet assets, including registration, insurance, and inspection documentation.
- Prepare and submit reports on fleet performance, costs, and maintenance.
4. Logistics and Coordination:
- Coordinate the scheduling of vehicles and equipment for construction projects.
- Optimize fleet utilization and manage the allocation of resources to ensure efficiency.
- Handle any issues or emergencies related to fleet operations.
5. Vendor and Supplier Management:
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers of vehicle parts, equipment, and services.
- Negotiate contracts and manage procurement processes for fleet-related services and supplies.
6. Safety and Training:
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure that all operators adhere to safety protocols.
- Provide training and support to operators and staff on the proper use and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
7. Cost Management:
- Monitor and control fleet-related expenses, including fuel, repairs, and maintenance.
- Analyze cost data to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Qualifications:
ā Education: High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or relevant certification
in fleet management, logistics, or a related field preferred.
ā Experience: Previous experience in fleet management or construction equipment
coordination is highly desirable.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in using fleet management software (Fleetio), telematics software (Bouncie) and Google Suite.
- Knowledge of vehicle and equipment maintenance practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
