Basic Function:
The primary role of the Estimator is to:
- Estimate labor and material costs for Residential Homebuilding per building plans and specifications.
- Generate house quantity takeoffs using estimating software.
- Generate bid items and establish house budgets.
- Work in tandem with purchasing department to ensure all job cost are accounted for.
- Coordinate all related estimating functions to ensure Company objectives are achieved.
- Review cost variances in job budgets.
- Be familiar Company cost management system.
- Preform other duties as assigned.
Scope:
The Estimator must demonstrate:
- Knowledge of residential home building techniques and materials.
- The ability to read and interpret building plans.
- Knowledge of scopes of work and building code for residential home building.
- Proficiency in software usage to include KOVA, , 2D Estimating and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills and work well independently and in a team environment
- The ability to manage tight deadlines, promptly address changes without disrupting schedules, and managing high volumes of work with minimal direct supervision.
- (PREFER) National residential builder experience in an estimating role.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience working in the Residential Homebuilder industry
- Education Level-Bachelor’s Degree in related field
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and background screening
- Ability to work a five day work week
- Proper business attire and personal hygiene required to represent company in a professional manner
