Flowers of Charlotte has tremendous plans for growth, and we're building a motivated and diverse team. This is a full time, 40 hour work week position.  Business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 p.m., Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Rotating shift schedules are created and shared by the General Manager on a monthly basis.

This role reports to the General Manager.

What you’ll do 

  • Oversee and manage the floral design operations at our retail flower shop.
  • Lead and train a team of floral designers, ensuring all designs meet our high-quality standards and are delivered on time.
  • Work closely with procurement and warehouse staff to manage inventory needs.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends in floral design and incorporate them into our offerings.
  • Ensure the shop operates smoothly and efficiently by planning and delegating tasks appropriately.

Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in floral design or related field preferred.
    • Minimum of 2 years experience in floral design with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
    • Proficiency in using floral order management software.
    • Strong organizational, multitasking, and prioritization abilities.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Physical Demands

    • Ability to stand for extended periods.
    • Ability to lift and carry heavy floral arrangements and supplies.
    • Comfortable working in fast-paced and peak season rushes.

Work Environment

    •  Retail flower shop environment
    •  Fast-paced, deadline-driven
    • Temperature extremes vary depending on store location
    • Chemicals: Seldom (mild detergents or glass cleaner)
