Acentra seeks a Data Analytics Intern to join our growing team.

Job Summary:

The Data Analytics Intern will serve as an integral part of our Analytics and AI team, collaborating closely with the Finance department. This role involves leveraging advanced data analytics and Generative AI (GenAI) across finance-focused project initiatives. The intern is expected to apply their knowledge in corporate finance, business, data science, and analytics, along with a solid understanding of how AI and specifically GenAI can deliver deeper financial insights. This position is tailored for an individual who is highly motivated to both apply and enhance their expertise in a dynamic, results-oriented setting.

This position offers the flexibility of remote work. Candidates have two employment term options to consider: a full-time engagement during the summer (from mid-May to mid-August 2024), or a part-time commitment beginning in mid-May and extending through the fall semester of 2024.

Job Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with the Finance team to identify opportunities for leveraging data analytics, AI, and GenAI to gain deeper insights and establish new analysis and reporting capabilities.
• Craft written requirements prior to beginning new projects. This includes scope, goals, rationale, approach and expected outcomes.
• Assist in the development and implementation of data models and algorithms that support financial analysis and decision-making processes.
• Participate in the extraction, cleaning, and analysis of financial and operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and insights. This includes the use of ChatGPT Enterprise’s Advanced Data Analysis.
• Collaborate with team members on research and development projects focused on leveraging AI, GenAI and ML to solve complex financial challenges.
• Contribute to the creation of visualizations and reports to communicate findings and recommendations to the Finance group and other stakeholders.
• Participate in the development and implementation of best practices and procedures for both the Analytics/AI and Finance teams.

Required Qualifications/Experience:

• Current enrollment in a undergraduate or post-graduate program in Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Deep educational understanding of corporate finance principles and financial modeling techniques.
• Proficient in data science and analytics methodologies, including data extraction, cleaning, and analysis.
• Solid working knowledge of AI and GenAI technologies (e.g. ChatGPT, OpenAI Advanced Data Analysis, other).
• Experience with programming languages and tools commonly used in data analysis (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective verbal communication, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Capacity to maintain a positive attitude and contribute both individually and as a team member to achieve the department's objectives.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

•  Previous internship or project experience in analytics, AI, or financial analysis.

• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in team settings.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation.

Compensation

The pay rate for this position is $22.00
