Full Job Description
The successful candidate will enjoy working in a storefront environment and they will be asked to take sales order requests for various electrical parts, subsequently filling the customers' order from the on-site warehouse. While talking with the electrician, the sales counter representative will enter the order into the computer and invoice the customer's account or refer them to the cashier for payment.
We are the largest electrical supply house in the tri-county area and we are continuing to grow thus the reason why we are looking to add to our team. We have an easy hands-on training program in place and that we will give the successful candidate that ability to succeed. We prefer prior electrical experience, but experience is certainly not necessary, someone in a parts counter position is encouraged to apply or simply those who have the drive to learn the products and the determination to be successful will be key.
Ultimately we are looking for a Sales Representative that will learn the products that we sell, deliver excellent customer service, address customer concerns if any and be ready and willing to contact electricians to expand help in expanding the customer base. We expect you to be an energetic, goal-driven person with excellent communication skills and if you also have some experience in sales or customer service, we’d like to meet you. Your overall goal will be to foster long-term relationships with electricians and help grow the business.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers to the store and answer their questions
- Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships
- Assess customers' needs and provide assistance and information on product features
- Build productive trust relationships with customers
- Handle returns of merchandise
- Comply with inventory control procedures
Requirements
The successful candidate would learn to input an order into the computer and pull the appropriate products from the shelves to fulfill the electrician's product list. The candidate would need the ability to easily speak with people as a sales/order capacity is necessary to be successful in this position - the employee would need to be friendly/outgoing. The ability to work as part of a six-person team while independently serving the customers who walk-in looking for help. The ability to read/write communicate clearly with the customers. Telephone skills/politeness while working in a stock and flow environment would be expected. Required to be able to occasionally lift 30-50 lbs. and place items on a roll cart for the customer and/or help them load the items into their vehicles.
- Experience in customer service is a plus
- Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
- Proficiency in English
- Basic Math skill
- Familiarity with inventory procedures
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills
- A friendly and energetic personality with a customer service focus
