Starting pay = $22.00/ hour

This role will work from home (WFH) with the candidate having to reside in or around Raleigh North Carolina.

About the Role

The Accounting Assistant is an administrative position that will work under the direction of the Senior Finance Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the accounting function. This will be a remote position, but requires weekly physical access to the mailroom in Raleigh, NC.

What You Will Own and Improve -

Mail Processing - Collecting mail from mail room. Making remote bank deposits and scanning support documentation for the accounting team. Scanning and sending items to various other recipients. Shipping materials to employees across the US to support accounting functions (cards, deposit slips, etc.).

Compliance - Ad hoc vendor and host forms. Donor & host assistance with respect to payments, credits, and other accounting processes. Reimbursable Sales Tax filings. Monthly Sales and Use tax filings. State and local license applications as needed. Ownership of multiple vendor portals to enable host/donor payment processing. Tax exemptions per state, as needed.

Support - Print checks as needed. Reconcile travel advance expense reports. Tasks as requested by Senior Finance Manager

Requirements

  • Associate degree and 2-3 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, database and internet software
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to track and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work independently
