A Bridge to Achievement is seeking a Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) to be our Assistant Center Director for our Winston-Salem location. We are looking for a BCBA who is passionate about providing and implementing ethical, assent-based, evidence-based interventions to autistic children and autistic young adults (ages 2 to 21 years).

The Assistant Director of Center Services supports all daily operations and clinical support of their assigned center. This role implements and maintains center protocols related to behavior analytic training methods and is responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of learners’ person-centered plans to ensure they are maximally effective.  This position ensures center based services align with best practices, agency values, and ethical guidelines, as well assists with all clinical QA standards. 

Our services are mainly center-based, with a few home and/or community sessions if needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead, manage and train behavior analysts within the clinical department at their assigned center by providing guidance, mentorship, and strategic feedback to ensure individual department success and quality.
  • Supports the daily clinical operations and emergencies of their assigned center 
  • Assists the clinical department in staff supervision, training, and development
  • Observes and overlaps learner sessions to ensure proper implementation of protocols and procedures by both technician and behavior  analyst 
  • Monitor and mediate concerns among behavior technicians or behavior analysts 
  • Assists with quarterly clinical Quality Assurance (QA) standards 
  • Conducts initial review of treatment plans, assessment reports, BIPs, and clinical protocols for all assigned learners in their center and provides feedback for quality assurance
  • Administers Clinical Training Plan for BCBAs and oversees administration of this for BTs
  • Analyzes effectiveness of staff training activities or materials and provides ideas for agency trainings to clinical leadership 
  • Completes CASP skill checklist with all incoming BTs/RBTs in their assigned center and identifies additional areas of improvement for each staff member
  • Ensures consistency and continuity of policies and procedures throughout the agency and reports barriers and solutions to clinical leadership 
  • Point of contact for ancillary providers visiting the center and collaborates with other departments to ensure services follow agency requirements 
  • Adheres to the BACB’s Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts and CASP ASD guidelines and closely adheres to all funder/billing guidelines

In addition to the duties above, This position will maintain a small caseload and/or billable hour requirement and must follow agency requirements for BCBA job responsibilities while completing those duties.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's or doctoral degree in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, Organizational Development, or a related field required 
  • Maintains NC (and other relevant) behavior analyst licensure per the licensing board(s) requirements
  • State Behavior Analyst license if relevant/residing outside of NC required 
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in good standing with at least 2 years of full-time experience as a BCBA preferred
  • Must be an approved supervisor for trainees accruing fieldwork hours per the BACB, with a minimum of 1-year of experience post-certification acting as a supervisor for trainees

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to observe and move with children in their natural environments (e.g. ABtA center, home, school and/or outside or in community) 
  • Must be able to demonstrate working and playing with children; must be able to sit on floor on ground and move easily in this capacity 
  • Must be able to perform the following gross motor activities: 
    • Climbing (e.g. upon playground equipment) 
    • Bending over (e.g. to assist child with writing or pick up reinforcers off ground) 
    • Squatting (e.g. to assist child putting on shoes) 
    • Running (e.g. running through a sprinkler with a child) 
    • Carrying (e.g. teaching materials, toys, art supplies) up to 15lbs 
  • Must be able to perform the following fine motor activities: 
    • Pincer grasp (e.g. manipulation of teaching PECS icons) 
    • Writing (ex. Filling out paper form with a pencil or pen) 
    • Using scissors and various craft supplies 
    • Grasping objects (e.g. keys, door knobs, etc)
    • Twisting of hands/wrist or fingers (e.g. Tying Shoes, fastening a button, using a zipper, etc) 
  • Must be able to demonstrate working and playing with children; must be able to sit on floor on ground and move easily in this capacity 
  • Must be able to lift children up to 50lbs
  • Must be able to utilize safe non-violent crisis intervention techniques with program participants of all ages (raising arms above head to block, stepping back, reaching behind shoulders, etc) 
  • Must be able to teach and assist with toileting skills. (eg. changing diapers, lifting on an off toilet) 
  • Must be able to utilize a company tablet or cellular device (ex. IPad, Samsung, IPhone) to take session note data
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard  
  • Travel Requirement up to 25%

Work Environment:

This position works primarily out of a climate-controlled ABtA center/office location that complies with all relevant safety and accessibility regulations. This position works primarily indoors, but some locations may have an outdoor playground which would expose the employee to natural elements when working with learners who have transitioned outdoors. Employees are expected to contribute to maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in shared areas while at the office. Employees may be subject to various noise conditions based on room usage, room type and the use of radio systems to communicate across the building. Employees are expected to assist learners in the bathroom for toilet training and diaper changing.

While the role primarily involves office/center-based work, occasional opportunities for remote work may be available, subject to manager approval and job requirements. Remote work offers the flexibility to work from any location with a stable internet connection that has minimal distraction with adaptable technology needed.
