POSITION TITLE: FABRIC FORMATION MANAGER
SUPERVISOR: PRODUCTION GENERAL MANAGER
DEPARTMENT: KNITTING ADMINISTRATIVE
FLSA STATUS: SALARIED EXEMPT

POSITION SUMMARY:

Oversees all aspects of Fabric Formation Department operations including but not limited to manpower, productivity, quality, safety, Seiryu, inventory, and 7S.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists Production General Manager with establishing budgets and departmental performance targets.

• Oversees department and shift supervisors. Provides leadership and mentoring and ensures discipline.

• Tracks and reports monthly departmental performance results (labor costs, productivity, quality, safety, Seiryu, inventory and 7S). Identifies gaps and ensures effective continuous improvement activities are implemented to resolve issues.

• Creates a positive work environment and works to create and maintain team member morale.

• Ensures a safe work environment and the safety of all team members within Fabric Formation Department.

• Ensures effective 7S implementation within department and among team members.

• Ensures that quality control processes are being followed within Fabric Formation Department.

• Ensures that all SOP’s and quality control processes are being followed.

• Ensures ongoing compliance to IATF 16949 requirements.

• Have responsibility and authority to stop production to correct quality related problems.

• Assists Production General Manager with the evaluation of new greige machinery and technology purchases.

• Works closely with Production General Manager to:

o Effectively identify and resolve all quality and technical related issues.
o Maintain Preventative Maintenance program within Fabric Formation.
o Maintain machine calibration program within Fabric Formation department.

• Works closely and communicates effectively with all other departments within SNA.

• Any other duty or task as may be requested by immediate supervisor.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have proven managerial skill and capability.

• High school degree or equivalent required. 4-year college degree preferred.

• 5 years minimum manufacturing related department supervision/management experience required.

• Must be highly proficient in Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Must be capable of making low and high level decisions.

• Must have strong organizational and project management skills (PDCA).

• Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.

• Must have ability to work well without close supervision.

• Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Must possess excellent customer service skills.

• Must have high level of mathematical skills.

• Must have strong analytical/problem solving skills.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will have multiple salaried and hourly employees reporting to it.

There is a close and distance requirement along with color vision. Employee must have both excellent depth and peripheral vision along with ability to adjust.
  • This position regularly will be required to lift 10lbs., 25lbs., and 50lbs. Occasionally it will require up to 100lbs.

  • This position will work in a plant environment where there will be loud noises. They will sometimes be required to work in high places.   • This position requires travel less than 10% of the time.
