Who We Are
The Clean Fight is a not-for-profit business accelerator working to significantly speed the growth of the inclusive clean energy economy of New York State, and beyond. Our goal is to help fulfill the necessarily aggressive climate targets enacted by the City and State, with a growth-stage accelerator and prize programs focused on scaling the best climate tech companies from around the world. We do this by assisting with business development, corporate and investor partnerships, tailored technical support, and providing non-dilutive grants to help de-risk pilots in New York. www.thecleanfight.com

We are supported by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), a public benefit corporation advancing clean, resilient, and affordable energy solutions for New Yorkers, the US Department of Energy, and the U.S. Department of Commerce. We are the NY chapter of New Energy Nexus, an international non-profit organization that strives to achieve a 100% clean energy economy for 100% of the population in the shortest time possible by supporting diverse clean energy entrepreneurs with funds, accelerators, and networks. New Energy Nexus operates programs in the US, China, India, Southeast Asia, and East Africa.
About the Role
The candidate will support the efforts of the Program Team at The Clean Fight across multiple programs which may include the Empire Technology Prize, Affordable Housing Decarbonization Accelerator, and the future Energy Storage Accelerator. The candidate will have the opportunity to conduct research and outreach to startups in the industry, leading to a deeper understanding of the technologies, key decision makers, and stakeholders crucial to the decarbonization of the built environment. The candidate will gain intimate knowledge of the dynamics and strategies of a prize and/or accelerator program administration.
The candidate may also take part in a variety of team meetings and strategic brainstorms, while playing a fundamental role in the strategic amplification of one of the largest prizes set against tall building decarbonization anywhere. This opportunity allows the candidate to join a small team of experienced professionals on a mission to decarbonize buildings and create a healthier, more abundant future for all through accelerating adoption of the most promising climate solutions. Applicants can expect to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where they will develop professional skills in project management, research, and communication.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the day-to-day management of The Clean Fight programs, liaising with companies, making strategic decisions, and working with our partners
- With guidance, conduct research to provide perspective on key technology trends in the space, with a focus on identifying proven solution providers and existing case studies
- Assist in the marketing and communication efforts, including market research and drafting communication materials
- Assist in the outreach and recruitment of applicants for upcoming accelerator program focused on energy storage
Requirements
An ideal candidate will have:
- A sense of urgency and resourcefulness, and be solutions oriented and execution-focused
- An ability to thrive in a clean, all-hands-on-deck work environment
- An ability to conduct efficient research, with an eye for problem solving
- An ability to work well independently and in team environments
- An excellent communication skills; written, verbal and interpersonal
- Experience with social media platforms and tools, especially LinkedIn
- Good time-management skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Nice to have:
- A passion for clean energy, sustainability, and innovation
- Experience with graphic design
- Facility with Microsoft Powerpoint and/or Google Slides
- Experience with tools such as Hubspot and Airtable
Commitment:
- 10-12 weeks; Start Date: Mid Jan (Flexible)
- 5-10 hrs / week
- Remote (NY, NJ, CT) or Hybrid (NYC)
Benefits
Compensation:
- $16.50/hour and/or school credit
