Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic VP of Development Construction to lead our construction projects from conception to completion. In this executive role, you will oversee the planning, design, and construction of projects, ensuring they meet all quality, time, and budget specifications. Your leadership will drive project success, manage stakeholder relationships, and uphold our standards of excellence in the construction industry.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee all phases of development construction projects, including planning, design, budgeting, and execution.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other construction and building specialists to deliver projects that meet or exceed expectations.
- Develop and implement construction strategies, processes, and timelines to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Manage contract negotiations with builders, contractors, and other external parties, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with all contractual obligations.
- Oversee the financial aspects of construction projects, including budget preparation, resource allocation, and cost management.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with legal, regulatory, and safety standards.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and government officials, to ensure effective communication and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Provide leadership and direction to construction teams, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring professional growth and development.
- Monitor and report on the progress of construction projects, providing detailed updates to executive management and stakeholders.
- Identify, mitigate, and manage risks associated with construction projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction management or a similar role, with a track record of successful project completion in large-scale construction projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in project management are preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- In-depth knowledge of the construction industry, including current market trends and standard industry practices.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Strong financial acumen, with the ability to manage budgets, control costs, and maximize resources.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively managing relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Commitment to upholding safety and compliance standards in all construction practices.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
