Our Impact

The Impact team has fundraised $1.7M+ for social causes and organizations like the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, Ukrainian Refugees, and COVID-19 relief. With many of our content pieces, we aim to provide our readers with action items, directing hundreds of thousands of petition signatures to important causes such as Act for Antonio, Abortion Access, Justice for George Floyd, and many more.

Job Description

Do you have a vision for a thriving TikTok channel, but need a place to bring it to life? We’re looking for a TikTok-obsessed person to spearhead Impact’s short-form video strategy on platforms like TikTok, Youtube Shorts, and Reels, alongside the CCO. You will lead our expansion to these platforms and be the brain behind creating engaging, viral content that resonates with our audience and amplifies our brand's voice across the digital landscape.

Starting from scratch, you and the CCO will lay the foundation for an entirely new department by crafting innovative workflows, brainstorming the next wave of captivating shows and series, experimenting with new formats and trends, and working with a team of creators to execute our vision. 

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a creative and fast-paced environment and is passionate about storytelling through video content. As the first hire in this role, you have the unique opportunity to advance within the company as it grows.

You will…

  • Develop Impact’s vertical video strategy across platforms and serve as a trailblazer in video content, working collaboratively with CCO
  • Lead our expansion into platforms like TikTok and Youtube Shorts
  • Oversee the video creation process from conception to completion.
  • Be in the know about everything that goes on in the world of pop culture, social issues, and viral trends, and transform that information into stories
  • Help identify, hire, and manage a creative team of content creators and editors to execute our video content strategy
  • Assist in filming and experimenting with new content ideas (a plus, but not required)

Salary range for this role is $70,000 - $100,000. Candidates who are confident in being on camera and eager to film for our channels will be considered for the higher end of the salary spectrum. 

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following in their background…

  • 1-4 years of experience in video content creation, video production, video strategy, growth
  • Proven success in creating highly-viewed video content for social platforms like TikTok, Youtube, Instagram, especially as it pertains to social issues and/or pop culture
  • Strong understanding of the latest pop culture trends and social issue news, and has the ability to turn complex information into compelling narratives and stories
  • Flexibility to adapt to fast-changing content trends and audience preferences
  • Been involved in stan/fandom spaces or are active in niche online communities
