Vice President - ABS Trading

Arena Investors, LP is a global investment management firm that seeks to generate attractive risk adjusted, consistent and uncorrelated returns by employing a fundamentals based, asset-oriented financing and investing strategy across the entire credit spectrum in areas where conventional sources of capital are scarce.

Arena is looking to expand the Securities Trading Team through the addition of a Vice President. In this role, this individual will monitor asset-based securitized products markets, source and evaluate investment opportunities, interface with the trading counterparties, and execute trades. Ideal candidates will be organized, self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work effectively with all internal functional groups.

Responsibilities:

• Screen securities and evaluate trade ideas in public structured products markets including ABS, CLO, RMBS and CMBS.
• Develop financial models and investment analysis using Intex, Trepp, and Bloomberg.
• Perform relative value analysis.
• Assist in the preparation of investment memoranda.
• Interface with the street trading counterparties.
• Coordinate with internal functions including Asset Management, Treasury and Operations.

Requirements

The individual will have demonstrated an ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment with an ability to think broadly about the business, incorporating continual improvement of processes and procedures with a goal of excellence while focusing on accuracy and efficiency.

• Bachelor’s degree from a top university, ideally in a quantitative area (e.g., finance, economics, accounting).
• 5+ years of structuring or trading experience of asset-based securities at a broker dealer or investment firm.
• Must be familiar with Bloomberg, Intex/Trepp, and must have excellent Microsoft Excel (VBA a plus) and writing skills.
