Our client, a leading financial services organization, is seeking a skilled and motivated Tax Manager to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, managing complex tax matters for a diverse range of financial products and services.
The Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing tax planning, compliance, and reporting activities for the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of tax laws and regulations applicable to the financial services industry, as well as strong leadership and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of the company's tax function, including federal, state, and international tax compliance and planning
- Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns, estimated tax payments, and other tax-related filings
- Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position
- Provide technical tax advice on complex financial transactions and products
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure tax implications are considered in business decisions
- Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations, assessing their impact on the organization
- Manage relationships with tax authorities, external auditors, and tax advisors
- Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance and support
- Prepare and present tax-related reports and analyses for senior management
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's degree in Taxation preferred
- CPA or equivalent professional qualification required
- 6-8 years of progressive experience in tax, with at least 3 years in a managerial role
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and tax accounting principles
- Experience in the financial services industry, with knowledge of tax issues related to banking, investments, or insurance products
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership and communication abilities
- Proficiency in tax software and MS Office suite
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with international tax planning and compliance
- Knowledge of transfer pricing regulations
- Familiarity with tax technology and process improvement initiatives
