Job Overview:
The Student Support Specialist will focus on enhancing the student experience at MusicBreeds. This role involves providing guidance, resources, and support to students, ensuring they maximize their potential and successfully navigate their participation in our programs.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
1. Student Assistance: Act as a primary resource for students, answering questions, providing guidance, and connecting them with relevant resources.
2. Needs Assessment: Conduct assessments to understand individual student needs, ensuring tailored support and resources are provided.
3. Program Support: Collaborate with program directors to develop and implement strategies that enhance student engagement, retention, and success.
4. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of student interactions, support services provided, and outcomes achieved for tracking and reporting purposes.
5. Workshops and Events: Assist in planning and facilitating workshops, seminars, and events that promote student development and well-being.
6. Conflict Resolution: Address and mediate any challenges or conflicts that arise among students, promoting a supportive and positive learning environment.
7. Community Building: Foster a sense of community among students through initiatives and activities that encourage collaboration and connection.
8. Program Evaluation: Contribute to the assessment and enhancement of student support services, providing feedback on program effectiveness and areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in a student support or counseling role, preferably in an education or arts-related setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse students.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Familiarity with student management systems and data tracking tools.
- Passion for the arts and a commitment to supporting student success.
