Situation, a digital-first agency building passionate communities for live experience-based clients like WICKED on Broadway and The Metropolitan Opera, seeks a Social Media Coordinator to support the day-to-day management of some of the most passionate social media communities on Broadway. This role will report to the Social Media Supervisor. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, social-media savvy, loves connecting with people, and wants to learn more about social media marketing.
What You’ll Do
The Social Media Coordinator works out of our NYC office and plays a key role in supporting the social media and content team servicing our arts and entertainment clients. They are responsible for keeping the social communities active and energized through personalized engagement, earned amplification, and channel maintenance in close collaboration with Social Media Managers, as well as their colleagues in Creative and Client Services.
Our office is located in midtown Manhattan and we are currently working in-office three days per week.
Sample Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Own the daily monitoring and engagement across multiple social media platforms for your clients–from solving customer service issues to amplifying an incredible piece of fan art or influencer content and everything in between
- Stage, schedule and post content for your clients once approved using platform best practices
- Monitor trending topics for on-brand opportunities and contribute to brainstorms about client-specific opportunities
- Handle ongoing channel maintenance for your clients (i.e. bios updates, playlist curation, avatar swaps, maintain follower list, etc.)
- Scan your clients’ press clips, Google alerts, social notifications and meeting notes for content opportunities
- Participate in channel launches for new clients, including parking handles and emails and uploading assets for channel branding
- Assist the Social Media Manager during on-site social coverage of major brand moments and events through live content capture, real-time posting, and/or enhanced monitoring and engagement
- Assist the Social Media Manager with social reporting by capturing community sentiment and curating key screenshots and activity
Requirements
- 1-2 years of work experience is ideal but not required; this can include internships or part-time jobs of any kind
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
- Unmatched enthusiasm for social media and curiosity for the evolving social landscape
- Positive attitude and collaborative mindset
- A passion for Broadway, live events, entertainment, and/or the arts
- Experience with Canva is a bonus but not required
- Willingness and flexibility to work select nights and/or weekends and/or holidays, as needed, for key client milestones (i.e. announcements and launches, social coverage of an event, or as part of an “on-call” schedule)
