Position Summary

The Senior Training Specialist is a content development and training delivery-focused position that is integral to Momentus Capital’s national capacity-building work across the country, serving small businesses, real estate developers and community organizations. The position will report to the National Training Manager to execute on the various aspects of Momentus Capital’s educational programming. This includes developing and tailoring, implementing, delivering and evaluating training content for different audiences; “training the trainer” to support national and local staff; facilitating training, workshops, and other internal and external educational programming; ensuring our content is up-to-date and accessible to different audiences; and providing guidance on locally tailored content.

 

This is a 3 year, grant-funded, limited duration position.

Essential Responsibilities

Essential responsibilities and tasks for this role include but are not limited to the following:

 

1. Cohort-Based Real Estate and Core Business Training Program Initiative - Training Facilitation (40%)

●        Plan and implement Equitable Development Initiative and core business fundamentals learning series under the leadership of the National Training Manager and in collaboration with the National Diverse Developer Program lead and other organizational leaders across the Capital Deployment team

●        Identify staffing and contractor(s) needed to support the development of content and implementation of these learning series and other programmatic activities

●        Participate in the budgeting and contracting of local consultants to deliver in accordance with scopes of work

●        Provide key project management functions to move the program forward.

●        Supervise and collaborate with key consultants, including program evaluators (internal, external, and/or interns).

●        Support consultant efforts by facilitating scope/contract development, scheduling meetings, reviewing deliverables, and managing invoice requests.

●        Ensure timely implementation of programmatic activities at all phases

●        Manage communication with Diver Developer and CDC-client participants and partners through email, phone calls, 1:1 meetings, group meetings, email campaigns, website updates, Moodle, and Salesforce.

●        Oversee logistics for virtual and in-person events with key program constituents, including overseeing a professional, high-quality learning series experience.

●        Develop written materials (program narratives, PowerPoint decks) to communicate about programs to diverse audiences including internal and external partners.

●      Deliver and co-deliver training to participating developers and CDC clients, borrowers and Capital Impact’s local stakeholder networks.

●      Facilitate discussions with National Training Manager, National Program Lead, Local Program and CDC staff, to tailor training materials / curricula to the local market.

●      Support development of learning series and curriculum, in consultation with the National Training Manager.

●      Manage learning series close-out and archival activities.

 

2. Training and curriculum development, adaptation, and iteration (40%):

●      Work with the National Training Manager, National Diverse Developer Program Lead, key CDC staff, and local programmatic staff to develop training curricula that match programmatic goals and partners’ needs.

●      Deliver and support development of training, including developing presentation decks and training scripts, as well as memos, toolkits, online resources, and other educational materials. This includes developing and evaluating assignments, exercises and other activities to be used virtually and in person.

●      Keep training and educational materials updated, including through identifying needs from training participants for new content and updating online resources.

3. Partner management and relationship building (5%)

●      Manage and support the process of internal and external partner input and engagement for co-created training.

●      Identify internal (across Momentus Capital) and external opportunities for engagement.

●      Prepare and deliver program reports to funding organizations, senior management and program peers.

●      Support Diverse Developer expansion nationally by providing supplementary staffing services as needed.

 

4. Support documentation and evaluation of training programs (5%)

●      Work with the Impact Strategies Team, Program staff and external consultants to implement training evaluation plans (e.g. tracking training information, delivering surveys, etc.).

●      Provide feedback on final presentations.

●      Contribute to funding proposals and reports as needed.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented project management abilities.
  • Self-motivated and resourceful.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Education or Liberal Arts, or 5 years of experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 2-3 years of professional experience in a relevant field (adult education, real estate, small business, communications, community development finance) preferred
  • 1-2 years of professional experience developing and presenting trainings or educational curriculum
  • Expertise with, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn, the following trade tools: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Google Suite; virtual meeting platforms including Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams; Salesforce; Project management software including Asana and Microsoft Teams; Learner Management Systems (e.g., Moodle); and scheduling software including Acuity, Doodle, Calendly, etc.
  • Preferred: multi-lingual

Benefits

The salary range for this position is $64,577 - $85,000 and is eligible for an annual incentive. This role is eligible to work remotely.
