Senior Strategist
SPCSHP (previously known as Big Spaceship) is an independent agency of creative specialists exploring new ways to engage and connect with people. We are looking for a Senior Strategist to lead the day-to-day work for brands in the fin-tech and food and beverage categories. For this role, we’re looking specifically for candidates with experience in and passion for brand, social/digital, and creative strategy. At SPCSHP, Senior Strategists are expected to leverage deep research and expertise to solve creative challenges. As a Senior Strategist, you will be responsible for uncovering insights from research to craft a strategic approach and brand story that will unify our client’s business and rally colleagues around a shared vision. You will be working directly with a Strategy Director, as well as a broader team including Analytics and Content partners.
Requirements
Roles + Responsibilities:
- Lead audience, category, and cultural research to uncover key strategic insights.
- Review and synthesize client materials to identify broader themes and gaps SPCSHP can address through additional research or deeper strategy.
- Craft a strategic brand narrative based on insights from research and organize insights into a shareable framework that will organize strategy.
- Present strategy and creative to clients in order to show how creative work solves both real-world tensions for consumers and real-world business problems for clients.
- Partner closely with creative teams to translate strategy into actionable go-to-market plans.
- Assist in the management of client expectations throughout the project lifecycle to ensure consistency and quality in content deliverables.
- Receive internal and client feedback, evaluate and recommend refinements to resolve issues.
Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience as a strategist.
- Experience working in the QSR and/or Financial Services industry preferred.
- Experience or passion working at the intersection of, brand, and creative strategy.
- Robust primary and secondary research skills required - ability to creatively use a mix of tools to uncover deep organizational, media, and audience insights; experience in analyzing qualitative and quantitative target audience research.
- Ability to go deep in research to craft compelling narratives that clarify business and brand problems and opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to construct insightful, data-informed strategies (presentations, POVs, etc.) that guide creative.
- Passionate about the work itself and collaborating with a cross-disciplinary team to produce amazing work.
The salary band for this role is $90,000 - $120,000. Where a prospective new hire's base salary will fall within this band depends on several factors including their qualifications and experience, the skill level required in the role, market rates, and the salaries of existing crew members at SPCSHP within the same role to maintain equity.
