About
At Proper Cloth, our mission is to continually elevate the standards of men's fashion by innovating new products and trends that resonate with our customers. As a Senior Men’s Product Developer, you will be at the forefront of this goal, collaborating closely with our design and development team to research, conceptualize, sample, and organize new products. We’re continuously growing and looking for someone to assist us in improving our product development.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development & Design:
- Partner with the Head of Men’s Design to develop, sample, and approve new products, ensuring they align with Proper Cloth's aesthetic and quality standards.
- Collaborate with mill partners to identify fabrics and trims for the development of new products and trends, leveraging your expertise to source materials that meet our requirements.
- Conduct thorough research and market analysis, including retail scouting and trend forecasting, to uncover new and innovative ideas that will inspire our product offerings.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and competitors, continuously expanding your knowledge base to inform your design decisions.
- Prepare and deliver trend and new product presentations, articulating inspiration, opportunities, key characteristics, and execution.
Collection Organization:
- Maintain the integrity and organization of our product lineup, ensuring that the line sheet is consistently updated and easily accessible for the design team as well as external teams.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration between the design, art, and marketing teams, ensuring that product storytelling is aligned with our brand identity and messaging.
- Maintain a comprehensive system for organizing product and fabric references in order to streamline workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- Minimum of six years experience, with a focus on product development and trend forecasting (menswear experience is ideal).
- Strong understanding of textiles, garment construction, and manufacturing processes.
- Exceptional creativity and conceptual thinking, with a keen eye for detail and trends.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts effectively.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design software and tools.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
