The Senior Analyst, Finance & Tax Equity conducts contract analyses and drives the management of commitments to ensure that Convergent’s assets are developed and operated in compliance with all regulatory and contractual obligations, with particular emphasis on debt and tax equity tracking and reporting. Additionally, the Senior Analyst evaluates operational and financial data to optimize asset and portfolio performance and maximize profit.
What You’ll Do
- Lead contractual, financial, and operational analyses of Convergent’s solar and storage assets.
- Develop and maintain sophisticated models to support and forecast asset- and portfolio-level P&L performance.
- Assist team leadership in implementing and improving our assets' comprehensive regulatory and contractual compliance and reporting requirements, with a focus on project finance (debt and tax equity).
- Drive development and implementation of risk management strategies to mitigate market-related risks while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Engage with finance, contracting, procurement, engineering, and construction teams to ensure contractual and operational feasibility during the contracting and development phases.
- Leverage subject matter expertise in energy market(s) where Convergent operates to register and maintain assets as market participants.
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis of energy market dynamics, including supply and demand trends, pricing fluctuations, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape.
- Prepare and present reports, presentations, and recommendations to senior management, highlighting key insights and actionable opportunities.
- Perform ad hoc projects and initiatives as needed to drive continuous organizational improvement and innovation as Convergent and the Portfolio Strategy & Compliance team evolve.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, mathematics, or related field.
- Three to five years of experience in energy project development, management, financing, energy markets analysis, energy trading, investment banking, consulting, or related fields.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with experience in statistical analysis, financial modeling, and data visualization techniques. High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with debt and tax equity structuring, management, and reporting.
- Thorough understanding of energy markets and experience registering and maintaining assets as market participants.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear and actionable insights.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, mathematics, or related field.
- Experience in programming or modeling languages like Python, R, or MATLAB and working with large datasets preferred.
- Experience with the analysis of contracts.
- Social agility and comfort with frequent interactions with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

Base Salary Range: $100,000- $120,000; Salary Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience.
