Full Job Description
• Design and develop roadway geometric layouts, profiles, and cross-sections for various transportation projects.
• Conduct traffic analysis and assessments to ensure safe roadway design, including capacity analysis and traffic flow studies.
• Prepare design calculations, plans, specifications, and estimates for roadway construction projects.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including civil, structural, and environmental engineers, to ensure cohesive project development.
• Review and interpret design codes, standards, and guidelines to ensure compliance during the roadway design process.
• Prepare reports detailing design decisions and recommendations, and participate in client and agency meetings.
• Conduct field investigations and site assessments to inform design decisions.
• Assist in the preparation of contract documents and bid packages.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in roadway design and transportation engineering.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation.
• Strong understanding of roadway design principles, standards (AASHTO), and traffic engineering practices.
• Experience with preparing design plans and specifications for roadway projects.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in both team settings and independently.
