Full Job Description
Seal & Design, Inc. is a family owned company founded and located in Clarence, NY with three divisions located across the U.S. and Canada. Our product line includes gaskets, o-rings, seals, molded products, die-cut foams, and many other specific products for all kinds of sealing applications. We provide superior products to our customers across many industries, including: Automotive, Medical, Military, Aerospace, Electronics, Power Generation, Hydraulics, and HVAC.
Responsibilities:
- Qualifies first-piece fabrication product and performs random quality checks as indicated by the quality specifications; has the authority to stop production when needed to correct quality problems
- Completes first article approval processes (FAIR’s), as required
- Utilizes the vision system inspection machines and other testing equipment as needed
- Completes routine auditing and inspection of shop floor activities to ensure compliance with manufacturing, customer and quality requirements
- Conducts inspection of and qualifies resale items and tooling used in fabrication
- Maintains records and procedures in compliance with all quality standards and certifications
- Reviews incoming product, segregates damaged / out-of-spec product when necessary and informs supervisors of any findings
- Initiates the non-conformance process; identifies preventive actions and continual improvement opportunities
- Interfaces with Sales Department to understand all dimensional and customer specifications in order resolve any issues and updates to specific requirements
- Works with Purchasing, Sales, and Shipping & Receiving Departments on returns, as needed, to ensure receipt of credit and/or replacement of products
- Assists Director of QA, Quality Engineer / PPAP Coordinator, QA Specialist & QA Inspector in any duties as requested
Requirements
Experience: 3 - 5 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Education: Associates Degree (AA) in a technical curriculum preferred
Skills: Proficiency working in a computer supported environment with business software, knowledge of ISO 9001 & IATF 16949 quality standards, experience using hand-held and automated measuring equipment such as calipers, tape measures, and micrometers. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, understanding of Lean 5S principles. Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills.
