The successful candidate will join Landmark’s growing and established Events Practice, working alongside fun and hardworking colleagues on a robust portfolio of events. The conferences and events that Landmark Ventures produces drive business results and social good for the company and our partners. Our annual portfolio of events includes Social Innovation Summit, Dealmakers Summit, CIO Summit, high-profile private-label conferences, and an additional 80+ portfolio of salons and webinars, fireside chats, breakfasts, dinners, and showcases. Our Events Practice is growing, with plenty of room for opportunity and professional development.
Role and Responsibilities:
Client Management, Programming & Speakers (30%)
- Research, identify, invite, and liaise with potential speakers for year-round events, and manage the speaker tracking database
- Lead speaker coordination and operations; including collecting presentations, gathering speaker logistic requirements, calendar management, and more
- Coordinate speaker travel and accommodation requirements
- Prepare conference documentation and materials for speakers
- Collaborate with the production and marketing teams to ensure that details and logistics are handled for speakers and public-facing program content
- Lead inbound account management for a select group of speakers; Collaborate and act as a thought partner on their role and participation at events, including general logistics such as confirming registration, coordinating inclusion in VIP activities, understanding their main communication goals in order to strategically place them in the agenda, and post-event wrap-up
Data Management, Analysis, Research, and Operations (30%)
- Data tracking, organization, and entry within our various tracking systems, including Excel, Google Sheets, and Salesforce
- Perform data queries, exports, and analysis using various tools and functions including spreadsheets, pivot tables, and other presentation tools
- Support the operational infrastructure of the team through technology tools such as Microsoft suite, email-blast software, online research tools, and more
Writing, Marketing, and Communications Support (25%)
- Create copy for stakeholder communications, speaker guides, invitations, collateral, PowerPoint presentations, sponsorship materials, event agendas, emails, and website
Event Planning and Execution Support (15%)
- Assist as needed with onsite and virtual event preparation and logistics for all aspects of the planning process
- Capture content at various events for post-event communications
- Lead on-site conference execution including speaker logistics support
- Attend select external events of our partner and supporting organizations in order to steward relationships and increase networking opportunities; Communicate on client or prospect calls, in meetings and other outward-facing channels such as Landmark client dinners
Requirements
The ideal candidate has:
- 4-6 years direct experience in executing events and/or conferences, including attendee, speaker, client, and/or partner and client management
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Business, Marketing, Journalism, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
- Demonstrated sharp strategic thinking and problem-solving skills which exemplify the ability to identify issues or challenges and find a reasonable solution
- Ability to multi-task, calmly and effectively execute under tight deadlines, and work in a fast-paced in-person and virtual environment
- Strong organization skills, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent analytical, verbal, and written communications skills
- Must enjoy and have a very strong focus on being highly organized, with incredible attention to detail when it comes to data management, information tracking, and spreadsheet oversight and manipulation, with the ability to assess and extract relevant information from an email or verbal communication or elsewhere, and then input and organize such information in a detailed, efficient manner.
- Excellent computer skills are essential, ideally with fluency across all or most of Google Suite (Docs, Sheets), MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Zoom.
- Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to monitor and manage multiple priorities, and meet timelines on large projects from inception through completion
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly develop trusting, productive relationships with clients, speakers, vendors, staff, and all partners
- Comfort with conference calls, video conference calls, and other external-facing communications platforms
- Experience in liaising with high-level clients, with a positive and polished customer service-oriented demeanor
- Willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and get into the details as a team player with a “get things done” proactive attitude
- Willingness to be flexible, work extra hours and travel as needed around critical events
- Work “Athlete” mindset – someone who is coachable, innovative, focused and is able to adapt
- General knowledge and communications fluency in the social impact sector
- Interest in learning about and engaging with leaders, speakers, sponsors, and content related to technology and innovation.

Our office is located in New York City and we work in the Eastern Time Zone; we will consider candidates for a virtual work arrangement who can work consistently East Coast hours or based is in or near NYC. Candidates must be authorized for employment in the United States.
The salary range for this position is $70,000-90,000. Compensation is based on candidates’ qualifications and experience, and we offer competitive benefits.
