About Mouse: Mouse is an education nonprofit organization that empowers students and educators to succeed in today’s digital world by providing innovative, project-based learning experiences that prepare young people for meaningful careers in technology. Our flagship program, Design League, enables students to develop their skills in human-centered design, UX/UI, and digital innovation, while also connecting them with tech professionals from leading companies like Google, Amazon, and Microsoft.
Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and organized Program Coordinator to join our team and support the Design League program. The Program Coordinator will play a key role in assisting the Design League team with program operations, communications, event coordination, and educator support. This is a part-time position that requires a passion for education, strong organizational skills, and an interest in tech-driven learning. The ideal candidate will have experience in program coordination or administration and a strong commitment to supporting underserved communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Coordination & Support
- Manage the Design League inbox by responding to general inquiries and escalating specific issues to the Senior Program Manager.
- Update and maintain accurate records on school engagement, contact information, and program status.
- Keep an up-to-date schedule of coaching sessions with educators, ensuring all sessions are logged and changes are communicated effectively.
Professional Development Support
- Record attendance for all PD sessions and manage follow-up communications, including sending reminders and answering questions to ensure strong educator engagement.
- Provide logistical support during professional development sessions, including setting up spaces, managing supplies, assisting presenters, and ensuring a smooth cleanup process.
Educator & Classroom Support
- Attend school visits to observe program implementation, engage with educators, and complete assessment rubrics to measure program effectiveness in classrooms.
- Support the creation and distribution of high-quality materials and resources for educators in collaboration with the Senior Program Manager and team members.
Event Planning & Execution
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing in-person program events, such as showcases, student competitions, and community-building activities.
- Coordinate event logistics, including venue setup, materials preparation, attendee communication, and post-event evaluations.
General Administrative Support
- Ensure accurate recording and management of all data related to program operations, school engagement, and educator participation.
- Assist in compiling reports on program progress, challenges, and successes for internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in education, nonprofit management, program management, or a related field.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in program coordination, administration, or a related role.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience working in educational settings or with educators is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with tools such as Notion, Google Workspace, and other project management software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for education, technology, and/or youth development
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with an understanding of the challenges facing underserved communities.
- Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to travel within the NYC Metro Area for school visits and in-person events.
