Production Technician

Solid Sealing Technology (SST) designs and manufactures small-scale electrical components used around the world. Our parts are found in many types of industrial, medical, and research facilities, and you will work with technologies used on equipment like energy storage systems, MRI machines, and particle accelerators. We have even sent parts to Mars! NASA's Mars Insight Mission uses components made right here in Watervliet, NY.

Position Summary:

The Production Technician is responsible for supporting production operations through set-up and operation of process equipment and conduction procedures for existing processes according to SOP, helping test and establish new processes and techniques, assisting operators and other personnel, and performing other various duties as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Facilitates product flow through production operations such as Leak Test, Cleaning, Furnace, etc.
• Rotates between departments and jobs on an as-needed basis.
• Supports cost reduction efforts by preventing waste and reducing scrap costs.
• Completes assignments on schedule while meeting or exceeding quality requirements.
• Reads drawings, work instructions, and referenced documentation to determine requirements.
• Identifies, troubleshoots, and helps resolve minor issues within job scope on equipment, fixtures, and/or products; uses precision instruments (e.g. micrometers, gauges, calipers, etc.) to make applicable adjustments.
• Assists Engineering efforts with tasks related to development, construction and evaluation of prototypes, new products, operations, and/or documentation, as required.
• Advances product to downstream operations according to work instructions.
• Records completion of work steps, rework, and scrap transactions in computer system.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local requirements/regulations and best practices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A minimum of two years of experience working in a manufacturing environment required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree or postsecondary certificate in related discipline is preferred.
• Ability to closely follow written and/or verbal direction.
• Willingness to assist others.
• Team skills: including ability to work independently in teams and collaborate with others.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High level of manual dexterity.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Well organized and attentive to detail.
• Demonstrated time management skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Annualized Salary: $39,520-52,000 per year (Hourly Rate: $19-25 per hour)

Typical Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
