Happier Grocery is looking for a dynamic and enthusiatic Produce Supervisor!

The ideal candidate will quickly be able to adapt to the brand, values, and culture of the company, evoking passion and excitement for the process in all involved, while providing an upbeat and positive interview and hiring experience.

Responsbilities:

  • Order all products for produce sub team, work closely with produce vendors to ensure purchases are cost effective
  • Analyze using available reports and data to make purchasing and product mix decision to maximize sales and profit and minimize out of stock, Control spoilage; generate turn movements
  • Rotates produce on the sales floor to ensure optimal freshness and variety. Ensures cases and display areas are fully stocked. Keeps the produce displays neat and clean. Removes products that are no longer suitable for sale.
  • Maintains the produce reserve stock area. Dates and rotates all back stock items. Ensures the storage area is organized and condensed daily.
  • Follows established guidelines when disposing of damaged, spoiled, and/or expired products.
  • Provides assistance to Members in the produce department. Answers questions, recommends products and safe handling tips, and assists Members with finding products throughout the store
  • Provide excellent customer service, including but not limited to friendly, courteous and prompt customer service.
  • Ability to stock merchandise from store receiving to shelving; ability to place product, weighing up to 45 pounds, on shelving at various heights
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry and walk about the store
  • Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Other duties as assigned 

Requirements

·      Work experience in a produce department preferred.

·      Knowledge of fruit and vegetables preferred, including seasonal items.

·      Provides prompt and courteous customer service

·      Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures

·      Excellent verbal communication skills

·      Ability to work both independently and within a team environment

·      Effective time management

·      Minimum 1 year retail grocery or equivalent

·      Excellent communication skills

·      Ability to perform physical requirements of position

·      Ability to work in a cold environments such as dairy walk-ins and freezers

·      Excellent interpersonal and ability to train

·      Strong computer skills which include Microsoft Office-Mac, Store Ops systems

·      Ability to work rotating shifts Monday through Sunday including some holidays

·      Available for flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the department and business

The base pay range for this position is a salary range of $23.00 - $25.00 per year. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid within the range depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.
