We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Procurement Manager with a strong background in construction procurement and knowledge of civil engineering principles. The Procurement Manager will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing materials, equipment, and service contracts to support construction projects. This role is critical in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of resources while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Requirements
- Develop and implement procurement strategies tailored to the specific needs of construction projects.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to identify material and equipment requirements.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with project budgets, timelines, and technical specifications.
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to contract terms, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
- Maintain and update procurement records, contracts, and vendor databases.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize procurement processes without compromising quality.
- Manage procurement risks and resolve disputes or discrepancies with suppliers effectively.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and innovations to inform purchasing decisions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the construction industry.
- In-depth understanding of construction materials, equipment, and supply chain logistics.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and their application in procurement.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to construction procurement.
