As a Prepared Foods Service Team Member at Happier Grocery, you will be an integral part of our culinary team, responsible for providing exceptional service and ensuring the highest quality of food offerings to our customers. You will work in a fast-paced environment, preparing and serving a variety of delicious dishes while upholding food safety and sanitation standards. Your passion for food and dedication to customer satisfaction will contribute to the success of our prepared foods department and the overall satisfaction of our patrons.
The ideal candidate will quickly be able to adapt to the brand, values, and culture of the company, evoking passion and excitement for the process in all involved, while providing an upbeat and positive client and team experience. Because we are a small team, we all wear many hats and are happy to roll up our sleeves and lend a hand whenever needed. Responsibilities:
- Ensure a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases, salads/soup station well stocked and properly rotated, while checking and ensuring freshness and quality of products
- Give every customer immediately and undivided attention. Engage and delight the customers with consistent, delicious food.
- Weights, prices, and packages customer selection
- Maintain accurate department signage and pricing.
- Prepares sandwiches and other prepared foods behind the counter for customers.
- Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and adhere to safe work practices.
- Follow department procedures to maintain supplies, back stock and coolers and track products transfer and spoilage.
- Maintain clean and organize coolers, freezers and back stock areas.
- Operate and sanitize all prepared foods equipment in a safe and proper manner.
- Provide the upmost Hospitality.
Requirements
- Ability to sell proactively Excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team; ability to communicate effectively with customers.
- Previous kitchen, culinary, deli, restaurant, cooking or customers service experience with customers.
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
- Ability to learn basic knowledge of all products carried in the department.
- Understand and communicate quality goals and ingredients information to customers.
- Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness.
- Strong work ethic, integrity and effective time management skills
- Properly handling of knives and other cutting equipment
- Available for flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the department and business.
