THE JOB

  • Completing all tasks assigned by the Executive Chef
  • Using commercial kitchen equipment to prep food items
  • Preparing ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and other meal prep
  • Measuring ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking according to recipes
  • Labeling and stocking all ingredients so they can be organized and easily accessible
  • Setting up workstations with necessary ingredients and equipment so that food can be prepared quickly
  • Undertaking basic cooking duties, such as making sauces and preparing simple dishes
  • Working efficiently to maximize production
  • Checking food quality at all points of preparation, transportation and delivery on-site
  • Cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen space as required
  • Ensuring that all food and other items are stored properly and sanitary regulations are followed at all times

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Cooking experience required, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook, or prep cook
  • Familiar with industry’s best practices
  • Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks at a time
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must have NYC Food Protection Certificate

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to work on your feet as well as stationary for at least 10 hours
  • Must be willing to work long shifts, including overnight shifts if needed.
  • Must be able to move, pull, carry or lift at least 50 pounds

COMPENSATION

  • Hourly range for this role is $20-22.
