Pedago is seeking a curious and dynamic People Operations Manager who will help lead our people ops functions. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, operational expertise, and interpersonal skills to support our domestic and international employees and contractors.
What You'll Do
People Ops Administration
- Manage compensation program, including benchmarking and levelling roles as needed.
- Manage employee benefits programs, including enrollment, administration, and communication.
- Maintain accurate employee and contractor records, including personnel files, timekeeping records, and HR databases.
- Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations, including but not limited to wage and hour laws, EEOC guidelines, and safety regulations.
- Resolve all benefits-related questions and issues from staff.
- Assess the benefits landscape to evaluate new offerings and make recommendations that align with our culture of care.
Talent Management
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract top talent for various positions.
- Coordinate the recruitment process, including job postings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and making hiring decisions.
- Collaborate with department managers to forecast staffing needs and plan for future hiring.
- Coordinate and improve onboarding processes for new hires, ensuring they receive proper training and support to succeed in their roles.
- Promote a positive work culture through employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and team-building activities.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations issues, providing guidance and support to resolve conflicts or concerns.
- Implement performance management processes to set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and evaluate employee performance.
- Work with managers to establish performance goals and objectives aligned with company objectives.
Strategic Planning:
- Partner with senior management to develop people ops strategies that support the company's overall business objectives.
- Analyze people metrics and data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to ensure alignment with organizational goals and legal requirements.
Requirements
- 5-8+ years of experience, with at least 3 years experience owning multiple areas of people operations.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Curiosity, flexibility, and independent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Google Workspace.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree or HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred.
- Experience partnering with PEOs and GEOs.
- Experience managing people ops as a department of 1-2.
- Experience in a start-up environment.
Additional Information:
- Hybrid: 4 days per week in NYC
- Salary: $130,000 plus benefits
