Full Job Description
• Provides treatment for all students enrolled in Children’s Services using goal-directed, developmentally-sequenced activities in the areas of self-help/adaptive, perceptual motor, fine motor coordination and sensory domains, to enhance educational functioning as indicated on the IEP
• Assists in the facilitation and restoration or maintenance of optimum independence for all students
• Recommends adaptive equipment for carry through of goals
• Evaluates student’s functional level; recommends and implements an occupational therapy program in accordance with the student’s IEP mandates and a physician’s referral
• Prepares reports on student’s progress in and reactions to occupational therapy, and maintains records of each student’s work and progress as required by regulation and in keeping with agency standards.
Assists in conducting in-service training programs as requested by an administrator.
Positions and transfers students as necessary
Requirements
• Bachelors Degree in Occupational Therapy
•Licensed as a Registered Occupational Therapist in NYS
