Pickle is a rental marketplace that aims to monetize the billions of underutilized assets sitting in consumers closets and brands inventory. Users can easily tap into shared closets within their community through flexible and/or on-demand delivery options. Our goal is to provide affordable and convenient access to quality items exactly when our users need them. We are starting with P2P clothing/accessories and expanding to other categories.
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Partnerships & Community Manager to join our fast-growing peer-to-peer rental marketplace. The Partnerships & Community Manager will play a pivotal role in fostering a vibrant and engaged community of users. This candidate is someone who is very passionate about Pickle and the fashion space. They will be integral to building relationships with ambassadors, influencers, brands, and media. They will be responsible for running marketing campaigns (both digital and in person), hosting community events, and creating strategic partnerships with other NYC brands / influencers / event-coordinators.
Requirements
Required
- 3-6 years experience in marketing, partnerships and/or community role
- Strong understanding of online community dynamics, social media platforms, and emerging trends.
- Extremely detail oriented and strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent follow through and task completion.
- Experience with results measurement, KPI tracking and data analysis (bonus if it's with messy data in a startup environment!)
- Creativity and ability to develop engaging marketing content and copy that resonates with our target audience.
- Experience with event planning and management.
- Experience with designing marketing materials and emails via Canva or Figma.
- Problem solver, able to take initiative and work independently to produce quality results.
- Demonstrated ability to execute in a fast and scrappy fashion, with limited budget and resources.
- Passion for fashion.

- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
- Experience building connections with brands and bringing strategic brand partnerships to life.
- Experience working directly with Influencers.
- Early-stage startup experience.
- Actively part of NY communities where our target audience spends time (eg. influencer groups, fashion communities, gyms, salons, meetup groups).
- Familiarity with rental marketplaces, sharing economy, or similar industries.
- Has relationships with NY-based brands / influencers / press that you can leverage to help Pickle amplify growth.
- Experience with basic graphic design, website design, video editing, or content creation tools.
- Experience with Notion, Customer.io, and Zapier.
Key Responsibilities
The key metric for this role is focusing on brand awareness and new user acquisition (i.e. top-of-funnel.)
Partnerships
You'll be responsible for forging relationships with new brands and executing on the partnerships.
- Identify target partners, conduct outreach and collaborate with the Director of Operations + COO to bring partnerships to life
- Identify creative ways to leverage brands to deepen engagement with existing users, and tap into new audiences
- Manage budgets and success reporting to help build longer term partnership strategy
- Develop influencer strategy, and work with Marketing team to execute
Marketing + Copywriting
- Create compelling marketing materials (eg. email copy, event printouts) that resonates with the community and drives engagement.
- Keep up to date with current trends within our demographic, and tailor marketing materials accordingly.
- Launch experiments to drive word of mouth and UGC amongst our users.
- Provide guidance to team running ads to improve ROAS / CAC.
- Identify creative ways to drive brand awareness + messaging.
Community
A key element of this role will be relationship building within our community - both to tap into new users in their network, and to drive affinity for the brand with existing users. Here's what you'll own:
- Build and nurture a thriving community of renters and lenders in NYC
- Develop and implement community engagement strategies to encourage user participation, feedback, growth and word-of-mouth.
- Develop and implement a scalable ambassador program, starting with the NYC ambassador cohort.
- Develop and implement initiatives to recognize and celebrate outstanding community members, fostering a sense of loyalty and belonging.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging social media platforms to continuously evolve community engagement strategies.
Events
You'll own the end-to-end strategy, execution and measurement of our events.
- Organize and manage both in-person and online events to facilitate knowledge sharing and community bonding.
- Identify creative ways to drive UGC at events.
- Analyze event impact and create reports to guide future decisions on event strategy.
