 Site Manager - New York 

We are hiring a team of dynamic and hands-on Site Managers for our studios in Bushwick, Ridgewood and Gowanus, New York City. 

At Pirate, we want every customer to enjoy our studios to the fullest, creating a welcoming, inspiring, and safe space for creativity to thrive and as a Site Manager, you’ll be at the heart of this mission. You’ll ensure our studios meet high standards, offer a great customer experience, and run efficiently. You’ll balance smooth operations, growing revenue, controlling costs, while ensuring health and safety compliance.

Every day will be different for you, but here's an overview: 

Studio Operations- Oversee daily studio operations, manage equipment, and work with contractors and staff to keep things running smoothly.

Equipment Repairs: Keep equipment running smoothly with regular checks, troubleshoot and fix issues on the spot, and liaise with Stock Control & Repairs for any additional repairs. 

Customer Experience: Be the on the ground face of Pirate Studios—gather customer feedback, make improvements, and collaborate with our Artist Support Team to ensure every visit runs smoothly. 

People Management: Lead a team of Site Assistants and cleaners, ensuring they have the tools, training, and support to thrive.

Health & Safety: Maintain a safe, welcoming environment for artists, staff, and contractors by ensuring all compliance tasks and safety regulations are followed.

Event Support: Collaborate with the marketing team to bring our studios to life through exciting, community building on-site events.

Our Ideal Site Manager has..

  • Experience: Proven experience in site operations management.
  • Passion: You’re passionate about providing exceptional customer service, and you have a love for music and creative spaces.
  • Skills: A natural multitasker with excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational abilities. You can think on your feet and remain calm under pressure.
  • Personality: Outgoing, friendly, and approachable-  you’re a brilliant people manager who knows what it takes to build and retain happy teams. 
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work a complete mix of weekdays, evenings and weekends.

Bonus points if you have experience in running a bar or events, a security background or  musical equipment repairs.

What’s in it for you?

We can guarantee 24 hours of work per week (with the opportunity for a full time position for the right person) paid at $28.85 p/h. Additional hours also available to support community outreach and events.

  • Free Studio Hours 
  • 33 days PTO, increasing to 36 days with length of service (inclusive of federal holidays and prorated for part-time hours)
  • 2 Duvet days – to press the pause button and reset mentally, no questions asked.
  • 4 weeks of fully paid sick leave 
  • 26 weeks of fully paid maternity, adoption and surrogacy leave with a staggered return to work 
  • 8 weeks of fully paid paternity leave with a staggered return to work.
  • 8 days fully paid leave for each fertility treatment cycle (IVF)
  • 4 weeks of fully paid Pregnancy Loss leave for colleagues who suffer a pregnancy loss, whether it happens directly to them, their partner or their baby’s surrogate mother.
