Full Job Description

Member Lounge Attendant are passionate about the art of Hospitality. You will work with guests and tenants to ensure they are comfortable during their time at the space. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring a positive guest experience.

The ideal candidate will quickly be able to adapt to the brand, values, and culture of the company, evoking passion and excitement for the process in all involved while providing an upbeat and positive client and team experience. Because we are a small team, we all wear many hats and are happy to roll up our sleeves and lend a hand whenever needed. Can-do attitudes and respectful, inclusive outlooks are greatly valued and expected of all team members.

This role is for 161 Water Street in the Financial District.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, following established recipes and quality standards.
  • Greet and interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, taking orders, and answering questions about menu items.
  • Help supervise and train new team members.
  • Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other equipment to brew and prepare beverages. Regularly clean and maintain equipment to ensure quality and safety.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of the menu, including ingredients, flavors, and brewing techniques, to assist customers in making choices.
  • Accommodate customer preferences and special requests, such as adjusting the strength of coffee, milk alternatives, and flavor additions.
  • Prepare and serve light food items, pastries, and snacks as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including cleaning and sanitizing countertops, utensils, and equipment.
  • Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, syrups, milk, and other supplies, and restock as necessary.
  • Ensure that each beverage meets the company's quality standards and consistently delivers an excellent taste.
  • Work as part of a team, communicate effectively with coworkers, and assist colleagues during peak hours.
  • Create HAPPIER experience for all guests, members, and coworkers.
  • Respond to questions from guests and members and follow up with guests to ensure their requests have been met to their satisfaction.
  • Provide members and guests with information regarding property amenities, facilities, and services.
  • Maintain accurate records of guest/tenant interactions and preferences.
  • Contact the appropriate individual or department as necessary to resolve tenant requests.
  • Protect the privacy and security of guests and coworkers.
  • Maintain a polished and professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Prepare and review written documents accurately and completely; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
  • Maintain professional and consistent communication with leadership.
  • Respond to member requests for special arrangements or services.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language.
  • Protect the privacy and security of guests and coworkers.
  • Assign and ensure work tasks are completed on time and that they meet appropriate quality standards.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for providing exceptional customer service.
  • Accurate and precise in following recipes and preparing beverages.
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple orders and tasks.
  • Capable of standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Effective verbal communication and active listening skills when interacting with customers and colleagues.
  • Willingness to work varying shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficient in basic math for cash handling and order processing.
  • Understanding of hygiene and safety standards for food and beverage preparation.
