ABOUT THE ROLE
Avant Gardner is actively accepting resumes from electricians and lighting techs with skills in electrics, lighting and production for a part time position of Master Electrician (ME). The ME is responsible for managing the Production Department’s lighting, electricians, and atmospheric effects (atmo) systems for each show. In addition to these responsibilities, the ME also assists in the technical needs of the venue as a whole.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee Electrics Crew and Programmers
- Draft plots and visualize ideas
- Lead crew during venue builds, change overs, and show load-ins / outs
- Hang, Circuit and Focus Lighting from plots
- Assist artist teams with shows technical needs
- Maintain documentation for electrics, lighting and associated networking
- Oversee lighting assets, including repair and maintenance
- Train other electricians to provide show tech support as needed
- Hire and mentor electrics and programming crew
DESIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 Years of professional experience with 1 year of supervisory experience
- Skills in crew management and scheduling; shop and inventory management; lighting, sound, and video system operations; electrical, audio, and video wiring; problem solving
- Motivated and responsible
- Team-oriented attitude
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Vectorworks, Lightwright
- Required proficiency in the Google Workspace suite, and its applications such as Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, Drive- including Shared Drives, and Google Groups for seamless team communication.
PHYSICAL FACTORS AND/OR ENVIRONMENT
- Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and other ariel equipment
- Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds regularly
- Specific Vision Requirements: Color Vision & Depth Perception
- Specific Hearing Requirements: Must have full range of hearing
COMPENSATION
The hourly rate/yearly salary for this position will range from $50/hr - $60/hr based on experience.
