Job Purpose: Reporting to the SVP, Athlete Sales & Marketing, this role is responsible for guiding the athlete clients’ brand development and monetization through social media usage.  This person creates social media strategies on behalf of clients in order to achieve a set of strategic goals including revenue generation.  The strategy must identify target followers, set clear objectives, and ultimately engage the client’s audience, increase followers/engagement and drive revenue.  The role also includes oversight of client focused content creation through organic content production capabilities.  This person also supervises and supports scheduling posts and monitoring social media metrics across client accounts.  This person meets with agents and clients to assess their needs and create the overall social media plan.  Additionally, this person oversees social media troubleshooting client requests and escalates to platforms as required.

To be successful in the role, this person must remain informed about platform specific best practices, sports cultures online, and social media trends. In addition, this person should know how to promote a client using the latest social media tools as well as what would best suit the client’s brand.

Duties: 

  • Meeting with clients to discuss their social media goals.
  • Researching the client's brand to become familiar with their identity.
  • Creating content for the client.
  • Setting up a posting schedule for client content.
  • Updating social media accounts with new images when needed.
  • Monitoring client accounts and social media metrics; creating reports to share with clients and agents.
  • Proactively securing paid social media opportunities
  • Researching target markets to adapt content accordingly.
  • Developing social media campaign ideas for client commercial, charitable opportunities as well as for personal branding
  • Plan, design, implement and monitor social media marketing campaigns.
  • Create, curate and manage social media content, including text, audio, visual and multimedia formats.
  • Monitor social media trends, including developments in design, applications, strategy and innovation to stay relevant and effective.
  • Create comprehensive social media plans to boost brand image, increase follower engagement and improve conversions.
  • Supervise and assist with social media troubleshooting requests from clients (i.e. verification, hacking prevention and resolution, locked accounts, etc.)
  • Lead budgeting for organic content projects, managing internal, freelance and T&E costs
  • Maintain relationships with social platforms and inform internal stakeholders
    • Stay up to date on platform developments and offerings for creators
    • Distribute updates as well as channel best practices to key stakeholders on a consistent cadence (e.g. agents + client service managers)
    • Participate in golf’s section of the monthly Athlete Exchange newsletter to agents and clients

Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree and social media training required in related field, preferably in Public Relations, Social Media, Marketing and/or Communications.
    • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in sports, entertainment or influencer marketing role.
    • Advanced knowledge of social media management software.
    • Familiarity with social media monitoring metrics.
    • Experience with graphic design software.
    • A professional demeanor when talking to clients.
    • Must have advanced knowledge of trends in the sports industry and developments in the athlete / influencer marketing space across social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, YouTube, and Snapchat).
    • Experience building relationships and trust with talent, talent managers and agents.
    • Advanced organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • Requires considerable flexibility in scheduling and the willingness to work nights and weekends as needed.
    • High emotional intelligence and demonstrated ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
    • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact positively with all types of people.
    • Advanced skills in Keynote, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
    • Ability to travel.

Benefits

Base salary range: $72-80k plus bonus potential if applicable for role.

Actual base salary is dependent on several factors including but not limited to; market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), level of responsibility, budgetary considerations, tenure at the company (for current employees), etc. The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Compensation decisions are dependent on circumstances of each role
