Lifecycle Marketing Lead (Contract)

We’re looking for a freelance lifecycle marketing lead to own Braze end-to-end, from orchestrating cross-channel journeys to overseeing in-app messaging and push notifications. 

Responsibilities

• Own and manage our Braze platform, leveraging its full capabilities to design, implement, and optimize cross-channel campaigns and journeys
• Develop data-driven lifecycle marketing strategies to drive user engagement, retention, and revenue growth
• Work closely with partners in data to develop and maintain proper event instrumentation and analyze messaging performance and effectiveness
• Partner with design and dev to integrate Braze seamlessly into our marketing and product strategy, not only in customer communications but also in-app experiences
• Manage a small team of freelancers to help execute our messaging strategy
• Bring the latest practices and ideas from the lifecycle marketing world to help us continuously convert, engage, and retain more members

Experience

• 8+ years managing the customer lifecycle, from acquisition to win-back—not just via email marketing, but also mobile push, in-app experiences, and more
• Mastery of the Braze platform
• Proficiency in front-end code (HTML, CSS) and dynamic content (Liquid, Connected Content, webhooks)
• Excellent organizational and project management skills
• High degree of data fluency—you understand event instrumentation and can build dashboards (experience with Amplitude a plus)
• Full understanding of the technical side of email marketing (IP warming, deliverability, migrations)
• Self-motivated and able to work independently (we're a fully remote company)
• Familiarity with Waking Up specifically, and mindfulness and philosophy generally, a plus
