We are currently seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team and contribute to our mission of providing exceptional veterinary care. The ideal candidate will be passionate about animals, possess excellent technical skills, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering outstanding patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in performing medical procedures, including examinations, surgeries, and dental cleanings.
- Administer medications, treatments, and vaccinations as prescribed by veterinarians.
- Perform laboratory tests, including blood work, urinalysis, and cytology, and accurately record results.
- Educate clients on proper pet care, including medication administration, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
- Monitor inventory needs.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Conduct routine and critical procedures such as vaccinations, blood draws, wound care, and medication administration.
- Monitor and care for animals during surgical procedures and throughout their recovery.
- Operate and maintain state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging equipment, including taking and developing X-rays.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering their professional development.
- Lead by example in maintaining high standards of patient care and client service.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices and protocols.
- Provide compassionate care and support to patients and their families during all stages of treatment.
Requirements
- Current licensure as a Veterinary Technician in the state of New York.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Licensed Veterinary Technician.
- Proficiency in veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
- Strong technical skills, including venipuncture, catheter placement, and anesthesia monitoring.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
