Full Job Description
Lead Fabricators are key members of our shops’ production. The ideal candidate is highly organized and experienced in window display/event fabrication. They are expected to keep track of, and be responsible for, the entire building process of their assigned project. The Lead Fabricator will oversee the quality of their projects to ensure that all elements and props are completed to meet TwoSeven’s high standards. They should be able to effectively communicate and delegate the needs of their projects to their assigned Fabrication team and to Management.
Part-time / Full-Time positions available.
Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Overseeing and ensuring the successful completion of assigned projects.
- Construction and assembly of large and small project elements
- Sanding and preparing work for finishing.
- Accurately measuring, cutting, and preparing parts
- Ensuring that Fabricators working on their project are appropriately assigned and staying on task.
- Maintaining quality of work that is in line with our high standards.
- Keeping Fabricators and the Production Manager informed of progress or challenge.
- Foreseeing fabrication bottlenecks and Informing the Production Manager to mitigate project delays.
- Wrapping, packing, and crating of high finish quality, and often delicate work.
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Supporting other members of the shop floor team.
- All other additional responsibilities assigned by Management.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of professional fabrication experience required.
- Ability to delegate work in a team environment, leading teams of 2-5 people of various levels of skill.
- Ability to maintain calm and helpful demeanor in high stress and fast turnaround environment.
- Ability to give constructive, goal oriented criticism, and motivate others.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to understand and interpret shop drawings and to predict build requirements.
- Attention to detail.
- High level of skill using handheld, pneumatic, and power tools.
- High level of skill in the operation of advanced workshop machinery.
- Flexible schedule and willingness to take on overtime, weekend, late night and occasionally overnight shifts when needed.
- Able to attend project installations when necessary.
- Punctuality.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs, stand for extended periods of time, and tolerate exposure to dust and noise.
- Bonus if you are comfortable with driving a sprinter van + 16’ box truck.
