Our client, a leading international investment firm, is seeking an experienced International Income Tax Manager to join their global tax team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex international tax matters in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
The International Income Tax Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating international tax planning, compliance, and reporting activities across the firm's global operations. This role requires a deep understanding of international tax laws and regulations, as well as strong analytical and leadership skills.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the preparation and filing of international income tax returns, ensuring compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
- Identify opportunities for tax planning and optimization, considering the firm's global activities, transactions, and structures.
- Provide guidance and support to regional teams on international income tax matters.
- Collaborate with external advisors and tax authorities to address any tax inquiries or audits.
- Stay updated on international tax laws and regulations and communicate any changes or potential impacts to the relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor and analyze the firm's tax positions and recommend strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
- Monitor and analyze changes in international tax laws and regulations, assessing their impact on the firm
- Participate in tax due diligence for cross-border investments and acquisitions
- Manage relationships with tax authorities in various jurisdictions
- Prepare and present international tax updates and analyses to senior management
- Lead and mentor junior members of the tax team
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's degree in Taxation or LLM preferred
- Professional qualification such as CPA, CA, or equivalent is a bonus
- 8+ years of progressive experience in international tax, with at least 3 years in a managerial role
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and international tax principles
- Experience in the investment management or financial services industry
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership and communication abilities
- Proficiency in tax software and MS Office suite
- Ability to work effectively in a global, multicultural environment
