At SourceCode, we’re focused on bringing brains and hustle, humanity and technology, creativity and business intelligence back to public relations.

Interns at SourceCode are here to learn. The focus of their work over their 8 weeks with us is to learn the client lifecycle, gain experience in supporting media strategy while learning office dynamics, collaboration, teamwork and problem solving techniques. The goal is to prepare the interns for their future employment within the PR and Communications industry by cultivating their professional (and personal) growth and development. 

Hourly rate: $16/hr

What You’ll Do

• Monitor media coverage for news of importance to clients & their industries
• Participate in account team strategy sessions and new business brainstorms
• Develop story ideas and contribute to development of communication plans for clients
• Cultivate relationships with key print, broadcast and digital media
• Perform research to gather competitive intelligence and develop insights for your clients
• Succeed in a challenging corporate environment
• Maintain media and/or analyst contact lists
• Build editorial calendars and tradeshow/conference lists
• Assemble briefing books and media kits
• Pitch local and trade media as appropriate
• Prepare daily and monthly media reports for distribution to client(s)
• Perform ad hoc account management tasks as assigned

Requirements

• A passion for PR and communication, especially within the consumer/b2b technology sector
• Ideal candidate has had previous exposure to PR practices either within college courses or previous internships
• Completion of final project, including a presentation at the end of the program, as designed by the internship management team and your manager
• Highly organized, communicative and detail oriented
